SUMMARY

Synopsis of Bill

House Bill 349 amends Section 1-6-5 NMSA 1978 to provide that in-person absentee voting may be conducted until 5:00 PM on the Saturday immediately prior to the election.

Significant Issues

Currently, statute provides that in-person absentee voting may occur until 5:00 PM on the Thursday immediately prior to the election. This bill would allow more time for individuals to vote in-person absentee.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS

The bill does not contain an appropriation or any significant fiscal impact.
