SUMMARY



Synopsis of Bill



House Bill 777 appropriates $100.0 to the Public Regulation Commission (PRC) Insurance Division for training and faculty expenses at the New Mexico State Firefighter Training Academy.



FISCAL IMPLICATIONS



The appropriation of $100.0 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of FY02 shall revert to the general fund.



OTHER SUBSTANTIVE ISSUES



According to the PRC, this appropriation would increase training resources and improve the overall program quality at the New Mexico State Firefighter Training Academy.



AMENDMENTS



To more effectively use this appropriation, the PRC recommends amending this HB777 so that any unexpended or unencumbered balance shall not revert to the general fund until the end of FY03.
