SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
House Joint Memorial 63 requests DOH lead an interagency task force on teenage drinking and drug use while driving. The task force would collect information, identify gaps in information, and recommend solutions and their costs. The task force would include representatives from DPS, SHTD, CYFD, the State Department of Public Education, local DWI agencies and organizations, and concerned teens and citizens.
FISCAL IMPLICATIONS
AOC indicates if the study concludes teens are drinking and driving at a greater rate than anticipated, there could be an increased number of youth entering New Mexico's juvenile drug court programs requiring more funding for these programs and their administration.
