SUMMARY

Synopsis of Bill

House Joint Memorial 66 resolves the following:

Significant Issues

SAOA indicates the provisions of this memorial would be very helpful to seniors on a fixed income.

ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS

SAOA indicates its activities under the provisions of the bill would include outreach, promotion, screening and one-on-one assistance. The costs incurred in these activities would be absorbed by SAOA working directly with regional coordinators of the Health Insurance Benefits Assistance Program.

OTHER SUBSTANTIVE ISSUES

TRD indicates it currently works with county assessors and other agencies in notifying citizens of their eligibility for the property tax valuation limitation and rebate eligibility.
