SUMMARY

Synopsis of Bill

Senate Bill 327 appropriates $50.0 from the general fund to the New Mexico Film Division of the Economic Development Department for the purpose of supporting the Santa Fe Film Festival.

Significant Issues

According to the agency, the Santa Fe Film Festival has attracted film-goers nationally. The appropriation would enhance the marketing resources for this event, which would increase attendance and, thus, the economic benefits of the festival.

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS

The appropriation of $50.0 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2002 shall revert to the general fund.
