Synopsis of Bill

SJM44 resolves the following:

•DOH design and conduct a study to determine the percentage of death occurring in licensed nursing homes that involve inadequate care as a contributing cause of death;

•a report of the study and its conclusions be made to the Legislature on or before January 15, 2002;

•a copy of the memorial be distributed to the governor, DOH, CYFD, AG and SAOA.

Significant Issues

DOH's Division of Health Improvement already collects and reports many of the statistics requested in SJM44.
