SUMMARY
Synopsis of Bill
Senate Memorial 10 recognizes Joe Margarito Holcomb, as an "Independence Day baby" born in Dawson, New Mexico on July 4, 1923. Mr. Holcomb graduated from Springer high school before joining the United States Army and serving in Europe, North Africa and Italy during World War II. After the war, he lived in Albuquerque and re-enlisted for service in the Korean War, serving in the Marshall Islands and Nevada.
Mr. Holcomb met and married his sweetheart and future wife, Sally Chacon, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Their two sons, Louie and Danny, and daughter Teresa were raised in Albuquerque. Mr. Holcomb was a quiet, modest and very caring man.
Upon retirement from Sandia National Laboratory, Mr. Holcomb worked for the New Mexico Legislative sessions from 1988 until his death in November 2000.
The New Mexico Senate extends its sincere condolences to Joe Holcomb's wife Sally, their children Louie, Danny and Teresa and their granddaughters Lea, Sonia and Megan on the loss of Mr. Holcomb, a good friend of the New Mexico Senate.
