45TH LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION - 2002

REQUESTED BY Donald E. Bratton

FOR CAPITAL PROJECTS IN LEA COUNTY.

I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

• to the local government division of the department of finance and administration

eight hundred thousand dollars ($800,000) to renovate the detention center for a jail-based alcohol and drug treatment program in Lea county;

one hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($125,000) for new restrooms, camping hook-ups and other related improvements to the K.L. Towle rest area, including compliance with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, in Lea county;

fifty-nine thousand dollars ($59,000) to renovate community centers and fire stations in Lea county;

eighty thousand dollars ($80,000) to purchase and install equipment for the kitchen of the event center in Lea county;

one hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($125,000) to improve the fairground food service area, including the installation of covered and lighted seating areas and extension of sewer and grease lines, in Lea county; and

one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to improve the health walk trail, including landscaping, from the event center to the county road department, in Lea county.
