HOUSE CAPITAL OUTLAY REQUEST 360

STATE OF NEW MEXICO

45TH LEGISLATURE - SECOND SESSION - 2002

REQUESTED BY Donald L. Whitaker

FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS IN LEA COUNTY.

I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

• to the local government division of the department of finance and administration

eight hundred thousand dollars ($800,000) to renovate and construct additions to the detention facility in Lea county;

one hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($125,000) to renovate the Towle rest area, including landscaping, constructing restrooms, replacing the water system and adding an outdoor museum, in Lea county;

fifty-nine thousand dollars ($59,000) to make repairs, pave, renovate and construct handicapped ramps at community centers and fire departments in Lea county;

eighty thousand dollars ($80,000) to equip and furnish the banquet and meeting room addition to the event center in Lea county;

one hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($125,000) to make improvements to and equip the outside food service areas at the fairgrounds in Lea county; and

one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to construct a health walk trail, including landscaping, lighting, exercise stations and an irrigation system, in Lea county.
