FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS IN ARTESIA IN EDDY COUNTY.

 

 

I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

 

to the state agency on aging

 

two hundred forty-seven thousand dollars ($247,000) to make improvements to the senior center mealsite in Artesia in Eddy county; and

 

two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) to plan, design and construct a senior center in Artesia in Eddy county;

 

• to the department of environment

 

five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) to make improvements, including construction of a sewer interceptor and winter effluent storage ponds, at the wastewater treatment plant in Artesia in Eddy county;

 

• to the department of health

 

one hundred one thousand dollars ($101,000) to construct a county regional dental clinic in Artesia in Eddy county;

 

• to the state highway and transportation department

 

seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000) for main street projects in Artesia in Eddy county; and

 

fifty-one thousand dollars ($51,000) for a VFR/IFR repeater, in order to eliminate the need to construct a control tower, at the airport in Artesia in Eddy county; and

 

• to the local government division of the department of finance and administration

 

two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) for phase 3 construction of the head start administrative and classroom facility in Artesia in Eddy county;

 

one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to construct and equip a skate park in Artesia in Eddy county;

two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) to develop a ten-acre section of Woodbine cemetery in Artesia in Eddy county;

 

one hundred seventy-five thousand dollars ($175,000) to construct an expansion of the truck driving facility at the Artesia vocational training center in Artesia in Eddy county; and

 

one hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($125,000) to make improvements to the historic train depot and visitors' center for the chamber of commerce in Artesia in Eddy county.
