FOR CAPITAL PROJECTS IN LEA COUNTY.

 

 

I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

 

to the state agency on aging

 

sixty thousand dollars ($60,000) to construct an exercise room at the senior center in Lovington in Lea county;

 

• to the department of environment

 

one hundred forty-five thousand dollars ($145,000) for water improvements, including treatment of wastewater and aquifer recharge, in Lea county;

 

five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) to rehabilitate the water system and wastewater treatment plant in Lovington in Lea county;

 

four hundred fifty-five thousand dollars ($455,000) for sewer line improvements in the Gibbs addition in Hobbs in Lea county;

 

five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) for phase 6 replacement of water lines and sewer lines in Hobbs in Lea county; and

 

three hundred sixty thousand dollars ($360,000) to make water system improvements in Tatum in Lea county;

 

• to the state highway and transportation department

 

three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) to improve streets near the courthouse in Lovington in Lea county;

 

three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) to improve streets in Lovington in Lea county; and

 

two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) for slurry and chip seal materials for roads in Hobbs in Lea county;

 

 

• to the local government division of the department of finance and administration

 

one hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($125,000) for new restrooms, camping hook-ups and other related improvements to the K.L. Towle rest area, including compliance with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, in Lea county;

 

fifty-nine thousand dollars ($59,000) to renovate community centers and fire stations in Lea county;

 

eighty thousand dollars ($80,000) to purchase and install equipment for the kitchen of the event center in Lea county;

 

one hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($125,000) to improve the fairground food service area, including the installation of covered and lighted seating areas and extension of sewer and grease lines, in Lea county;

 

one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) to improve the health walk trail, including landscaping, from the event center to the county road department, in Lea county;

 

five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) to make improvements at Chaparral park in Lovington in Lea county;

 

one hundred sixty thousand dollars ($160,000) to purchase ambulances for Lovington in Lea county;

 

five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) to design and construct an auto-accessible picnic area in Del Norte regional park in Hobbs in Lea county; and

 

twenty thousand dollars ($20,000) for a warning siren in Tatum in Lea county; and

 

• to the state department of public education

 

two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) for technology laboratories at Highland and Houston junior high schools in the Hobbs municipal school district in Hobbs in Lea county;

 

six hundred thousand dollars ($600,000) to remodel the field house at Lovington high school in the Lovington municipal school district in Lea county; and

 

one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) for roof and window replacements in the Tatum municipal school district in Lea county.
