FOR ENGINEERING AND EQUIPMENT FOR A PILOT STUDY OF CONVERTING NON-POTABLE WATER TO POTABLE WATER FOR THE LEA SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION AND CARLSBAD SOIL AND WATER CONSERVATION DISTRICTS IN LEA AND EDDY COUNTIES.

I request that the following capital outlay project be funded:

• to the board of regents of New Mexico state university

five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) to engineer and provide equipment for a pilot study of converting water produced in oil and gas production to potable water for the Lea soil and water conservation and Carlsbad soil and water conservation districts in Lea and Eddy counties.
