SUMMARY

 

     Synopsis of Bill

 

House Bill 215 appropriates$66.4 from the general fund to the Economic Development Department to promote the Adventure Gallup Project and related development activities in McKinley County.

 

     Significant Issues

 

The agency indicates that the funding within this bill will provide the start-up capital for a  Adventure Gallup Activity Center to be locate within the Gallup Cultural Center.  Adventure Gallup has the goals two primary goals:  (1) the establishment of an economic driver in McKinley County and (2) the involvement of the whole community in economic initiatives that expand opportunities for business and employment, as well as enhances community health and quality of life.

 

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS

 

The appropriation of $66.4 contained in this bill is a recurring expense to the general fund. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2003 shall revert to the general fund.
