A MEMORIAL

EXPRESSING THE CONDOLENCE OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES UPON THE PASSING OF GAVINA NUANES RIVERA.

WHEREAS, Gavina "Vina" Nuanes Rivera, a seventy-seven-year-old life-long resident of Albuquerque, died on April 20, 2002; and

WHEREAS, she was a devout Catholic and worshiped at Our Lady of Guadalupe church; and

WHEREAS, Vina was a loving and selfless single mother to her five children; and

WHEREAS, she worked for thirty-one years with the Bernalillo county juvenile probation office, where she supervised office staff and later became the children's court clerk; and

WHEREAS, she is survived by her five children, Charlotte Walton, Geraldine Rivera, Robert, Beatriz and David; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Nestor Nuanes, Annie Garcia and Joseph Nuanes;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that condolences be extended to the family and friends of Gavina Nuanes Rivera, a loving and devoted New Mexican.
