AN ACT

MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR A STATEWIDE PERFORMING ARTS TOURING PROGRAM AND A SYMPHONY PERFORMANCE AND EDUCATIONAL SERVICES PROGRAM.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATIONS.--

A. Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the office of cultural affairs for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 for a statewide performing arts touring program by major performing arts institutions that have shown a significant and consistent history of and commitment to performing arts touring and that have provided performing arts services in two or more counties outside of their home communities during each of the last five years.

B. Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the office of cultural affairs for expenditure in fiscal years 2004 and 2005 for use by the national Hispanic cultural center to engage a symphony orchestra to provide educational services and performances for young people, senior citizens and the general public in the Barelas community.

C. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 for expenditures related to Subsection A of this section, or at the end of fiscal year 2005 for expenditures related to Subsection B of this section, shall revert to the general fund.
