Your JUDICIARY COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 242

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

1. On page 2, line 25, before the word "Controlled" insert "New Mexico".

2. On page 3, line 15, after "condition" insert "and is derived solely from an intrastate source".

3. On page 3, between lines 18 and 19, insert the following new paragraphs to read:

"(3) multiple sclerosis;

(4) spinal cord injury characterized by muscle spasticity;".

4. Renumber the succeeding paragraphs accordingly.

5. On page 4, line 1, strike "person" and insert in lieu thereof "resident of New Mexico".

6. On page 5, line 4, strike "of or the medical use".

7. On page 5, line 4, after "cannabis" insert "for medical use by the qualifying patient."

8. On page 7, line 21, strike "petty".

9. On page 7, line 25, strike "BOARD" and insert in lieu thereof "BOARDS".

10. On page 11, between lines 9 and 10, insert the following new subsection to read:

"J. The secretary of health shall establish an advisory board that includes health education and educational experts as well as parents to develop and disseminate accurate, science-based information for parents, youth and patients to prevent cannabis misuse and ensure safe medical use consistent with the provisions of the Lynn Pierson Compassionate Use Act.".
