AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO NEW MEXICO INSTIUTE OF MINING AND TECHNOLOGY TO CONTINUE MAPPING OF THE STATE'S AQUIFER RESOURCES.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico institute of mining and technology for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 to continue mapping of the state's aquifer and underground water resources to more fully understand the interrelationship between surface and underground water and the capacity and recharge capabilities of aquifers. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 shall revert to the general fund.
