AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO SUPPORT PUBLIC-PRIVATE PARTNERSHIPS TO DEVELOP AFTER-SCHOOL AND OTHER PREVENTION PROGRAMS FOR THE YOUTH OF NEW MEXICO; PROVIDING FOR FUND DISTRIBUTION.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 for the purpose of providing matching funds to support community-based after-school and other prevention services and programs for youth. The department of finance and administration shall award fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) each to the state department of public education, the children, youth and families department, the department of health, the human services department and the labor department when the respective departments demonstrate to the department of finance and administration that matching funds are available and committed to provide services for youth. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 shall revert to the general fund.
