AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO INCREASE RATES PAID TO CHILD CARE PROGRAMS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the child care services bureau of the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 to provide an increase in the differential rates paid to child care programs based on demonstrated levels of quality through participation in the office of child development's aim high program or through national accreditation. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 shall revert to the general fund.
