AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY FOR SERVICES TO PRESERVE WILD HORSES KNOWN AS "NEW MEXICANS".



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred forty-six thousand dollars ($546,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 for the New Mexico department of agriculture to contract for services, including roundups and DNA testing, to assist in the preservation of wild horses known as "New Mexicans". Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 shall revert to the general fund.
