AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR NURSING EDUCATION IN NEW MEXICO.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

A. Nine hundred nineteen thousand dollars ($919,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 in the following amounts and for the following purposes:

(1) five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) to increase admissions and for support of the bachelor of science in nursing program and to maintain the master of science in nursing program; and

(2) four hundred nineteen thousand dollars ($419,000) to maintain nursing faculty salaries.

B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 shall revert to the general fund.
