Your APPROPRIATIONS AND FINANCE COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred



HOUSE BILL 854



has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:



1. On page 1, line 11, strike "AMENDING THE GAMING CONTROL ACT TO PROVIDE".



2. On page 1, strike line 12 in its entirety.



3. On page 1, line 13, strike "GAMING OPERATORS".



4. On page 1, lines 13 and 14, strike "OF THE PROCEEDS FROM THE FEE".



5. On page 1, between lines 16 and 17, insert the following new sections to read:



"Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the gaming control board for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 for purchase of software and hardware to upgrade the gaming machine central system. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 shall revert to the general fund.



Section 2. CONTINGENT EFFECTIVE DATE.--The provisions of this act become effective only if House Bill 486 of the first session of the forty-sixth legislature is enacted into law.".



6. On page 1, strike lines 17 through 25 and on page 2, strike lines 1 through 5 in their entirety..
