AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT TO CONTRACT FOR SERVICES THAT ENCOURAGE AND REWARD QUALITY IN BUSINESS, EDUCATION, GOVERNMENT AND HEALTH CARE.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the economic development department for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 to contract with a non-profit organization that engages in activities that seek to educate New Mexicans about quality and that encourages and rewards quality in business, education, government and health care. This appropriation is contingent upon the non-profit organization receiving one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) in matching funds from private donors. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 shall revert to the general fund.
