SENATE BILL 171



has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:



1. On page 2, line 22, remove the brackets and the line through "New Mexico".



2. On page 8, line 14, strike "licensed physicians" and insert in lieu thereof "licensees and applicants".



3. On page 8, line 16, before the semicolon insert "and the Impaired Health Care Provider Act".



4. On page 9, line 24, remove the brackets and the line through "New Mexico".



5. On page 14, line 6, strike "biennially".



6. On page 16, line 5, after "shall" insert "only".



7. On page 19, line 13, strike "licensed".



8. On page 21, line 4, remove the brackets and line through "New Mexico".



9. On page 23, line 9, after the period strike the remainder of the line, strike lines 10 through 12 in their entirety and insert in lieu thereof "An applicant for licensure who holds a medical doctor degree and a doctoral degree in a medically related field shall have successfully completed the entire examination series within ten years from the date the first step of the examination was passed.".



10. On page 23, line 16, after "G." strike the remainder of the line and strike line 17 through "licensure" and insert in lieu thereof "The board may require fingerprints and other information necessary for a state and national criminal background check".



11. On page 24, line 4, after "physician" strike the remainder of the line and strike line 5 through "but".



12. On page 24, line 15, after "Canada" insert "and has practiced medicine in the United States or Canada immediately preceding the application".



13. On page 25, line 6, after "of" insert "medical".



14. On page 25, line 15, before the semicolon insert "in another state or Canada".



15. On page 26, line 14, after "F." strike the remainder of the line and strike line 15 through "licensure" and insert in lieu thereof "The board may require fingerprints and other information necessary for a state and national criminal background check".



16. On page 30, line 15, after "things" insert an ending bracket, remove the line through the remainder of the line and after "but" insert "is".



17. On page 30, line 16, remove the ending bracket and the line-through and after "enumeration" insert a comma.



18. On page 35, line 3, after "patient" strike ", other than the spouse of the licensee,".



19. On page 42, between lines 16 and 17, insert the following new paragraph:



"(1) be enrolled in a board-approved residency training program either in New Mexico or in another jurisdiction;".



20. Renumber the succeeding paragraphs accordingly.



21. On page 44, line 13, strike "the current application fee" and insert in lieu thereof "six hundred dollars ($600)".



22. On page 47, line 10, after the period strike the remainder of the line, strike lines 11 through 13 in their entirety and on line 14 strike "established.".



23. On page 48, line 14, strike "October 1" and insert in lieu thereof "September 30".



24. On page 50, line 25, after "fee" strike the remainder of the line and insert in lieu thereof a period and quotation marks.



25. On page 51, strike lines 1 and 2 in their entirety.



26. On page 51, line 24, after the second occurrence of "Act" insert ", the Anesthesiologist Assistants Act".



27. On page 53, strike lines 6 through 17 in their entirety.



28. Renumber the succeeding section accordingly.,
