AN ACT

RELATING TO HUNTING; PROVIDING FOR THE RESERVATION OF TWO ELK LICENSES FOR PERSONS UNDER THE AGE OF TWENTY-ONE WITH LIFE-THREATENING ILLNESSES.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. A new section of Chapter 17, Article 3 NMSA 1978 is enacted to read:

"[NEW MATERIAL] ELK LICENSES RESERVED.--The state game commission shall reserve no more than two elk licenses a year for sale to persons under the age of twenty-one who have been determined by a licensed physician to have a life-threatening illness and who have been qualified through a nonprofit wish-granting organization approved by the commission."
