AN ACT

RELATING TO LAW ENFORCEMENT; PROVIDING FOR ENFORCEMENT OF LAWS

REGARDING AIRCRAFT; AUTHORIZING INSPECTION OF FACILITIES RELATED TO AIRCRAFT OPERATIONS.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. LAW ENFORCEMENT--LAWS REGARDING AIRCRAFT--POWER TO INSPECT FACILITIES RELATED TO AIRCRAFT OPERATIONS.--

A. A New Mexico state police officer or a municipal police officer shall enforce and assist in the enforcement of all state and municipal laws, and rules adopted pursuant to those laws, regarding aircraft.

B. A New Mexico state police officer or a municipal police officer may inspect and examine, at a reasonable hour, the premises and buildings on the premises where:

(1) airports, air navigation facilities or flight schools are operated; or

(2) other activities related to aircraft are conducted.

Section 2. EFFECTIVE DATE.--The effective date of the provisions of this act is July 1, 2003.
