AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR STATEWIDE CULTURAL, EDUCATIONAL AND HISTORIC ACTIVITIES.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the office of cultural affairs for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 to provide funding for the New Mexico endowment for the humanities to sponsor cultural, educational and historical activities, statewide, in rural and urban locations and to research, interpret and make public presentations on how the availability and accessibility of water has characterized New Mexico's settlement. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 shall revert to the general fund.
