AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE STATE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC EDUCATION TO SUPPORT PROGRAMS THAT PROVIDE HOLISTIC, AGRICULTURAL FARMING EXPERIENCE TO SCHOOL-AGED YOUTH.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Seven hundred fifty thousand dollars ($750,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal years 2004 through 2007 to support programs that provide holistic, agricultural farming experience to school-aged youth in New Mexico. No more than two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) may be expended in any one fiscal year. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2007 shall revert to the general fund.
