AN ACT

RELATING TO FIREARMS; PROVIDING THAT MANUFACTURERS, DISTRIBUTORS OR SELLERS OF FIREARMS ARE NOT LIABLE TO A PERSON FOR ANY INJURY DUE TO THE USE OF THEIR FIREARMS BY ANY PERSON.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. MANUFACTURERS, DISTRIBUTORS OR SELLERS OF FIREARMS--IMMUNITY.--Manufacturers, distributors or sellers of firearms who lawfully manufacture, distribute or sell firearms shall not be liable to a person, or the estate, successors or survivors of a person, for any injury, including wrongful death or property damage, due to the use of their firearms by any person.

Section 2. EFFECTIVE DATE.--The effective date of the provisions of this act is July 1, 2003.
