AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO DEVELOP A MENTAL HEALTH PROGRAM TO SERVE PEOPLE WITH SEVERE AND PERSISTENT MENTAL ILLNESS AND CO-OCCURRING DISORDERS IN DONA ANA COUNTY.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 to contract for development and implementation in Dona Ana county of an assertive integrated community-based psychosocial treatment and rehabilitation program for persons with severe and persistent mental illness and co-occurring disorders with a nonprofit statewide provider accredited by the national commission on accreditation of rehabilitation facilities. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 shall revert to the general fund.
