AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE FOR AN ADULT MENTAL HEALTH COURT PROGRAM IN THE BERNALILLO COUNTY METROPOLITAN COURT.



BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

A. The following amounts are appropriated from the general fund to the following agencies for expenditure in fiscal year 2004 for the purpose of providing for an adult mental health court program in the Bernalillo county metropolitan court:

(1) two hundred fifteen thousand nine hundred dollars ($215,900) to the Bernalillo county metropolitan court to provide salaries, benefits and operating costs for an assistant clinical director, a forensic social worker, a probation officer and a court clerk;

(2) one hundred one thousand four hundred dollars ($101,400) to the second judicial district attorney's office to provide salaries, benefits and operating costs for an assistant district attorney and a secretary; and

(3) one hundred thirteen thousand two hundred dollars ($113,200) to the public defender department to provide salaries, benefits and operating costs for a public defender and a social worker.

B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2004 shall revert to the general fund.
