FOR CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS AT INSTITUTIONS OF HIGHER LEARNING THROUGHOUT THE STATE.

 

 

I request that the following capital outlay projects be funded:

 

to the commission on higher education

 

twenty-five million dollars ($25,000,000) for infrastructure renovation and expansion at institutions of higher learning throughout the state;

 

six million dollars ($6,000,000) for information technology infrastructure at institutions of higher learning throughout the state;

 

two million five hundred thousand dollars ($2,500,000) for health and safety improvements to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 at institutions of higher learning throughout the state;

 

seven million dollars ($7,000,000) to develop the site for, plan, design, construct and equip a science education facility at eastern New Mexico university in Portales in Roosevelt county;

 

eight million dollars ($8,000,000) to plan, design, construct and equip the renovation and expansion of O'Donnell hall at New Mexico state university in Las Cruces in Dona Ana county;

 

four million dollars ($4,000,000) to renovate Kelly and Jones hall, including electrical and mechanical upgrades and improvements to meet the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990, at New Mexico institute of mining and technology in Socorro in Socorro county;

 

nine million dollars ($9,000,000) to develop the site for, plan, design and construct the Centennial engineering center at the university of New Mexico in Albuquerque in Bernalillo county;

 

four million four hundred thousand dollars ($4,400,000) for infrastructure and parking lot improvements at Albuquerque technical-vocational institute in Bernalillo county;

 

five hundred sixty-five thousand dollars ($565,000) to renovate the college of nursing building at the health sciences center at the university of New Mexico in Albuquerque in Bernalillo county;

 

three million dollars ($3,000,000) for phase 3 construction of the East Mesa center at New Mexico state university in Las Cruces in Dona Ana county;

 

four million five hundred thousand dollars ($4,500,000) to renovate the old bookstore and the biology building at the university of New Mexico in Albuquerque in Bernalillo county;

 

two million five hundred thousand dollars ($2,500,000) to renovate McClure hall at New Mexico military institute in Roswell in Chaves county;

 

five million five hundred thousand dollars ($5,500,000) to plan, design, construct, furnish and equip an early childhood education facility at Hester hall at the New Mexico school for the deaf in Santa Fe in Santa Fe county;

 

three million six hundred thousand dollars ($3,600,000) to develop the site for, plan, design, construct and equip a workforce instructional training center at New Mexico junior college in Hobbs in Lea county;

 

two million eight hundred thousand dollars ($2,800,000) to develop the site for, plan, design and construct phase 2 core building renovation at New Mexico school for the visually handicapped in Alamogordo in Otero county;

 

one million one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($1,150,000) to plan, design, construct and equip a classroom addition at Harlan hall at western New Mexico university in Silver City in Grant county;

 

seven hundred fifty thousand dollars ($750,000) to develop the site for and construct phase 1 of the expansion of the instructional center at the Ruidoso branch of eastern New Mexico university in Lincoln county;

 

one hundred fifty thousand dollars ($150,000) for acquiring property for northern New Mexico state school in Espanola in Rio Arriba county; and

 

two million dollars ($2,000,000) to purchase and install equipment at the health sciences center at the university of New Mexico in Albuquerque in Bernalillo county.
