SUMMARY

 

     Synopsis of Bill

 

House Bill 695 appropriates $100.0 to the State Department of Education for developing curricula relating to citizen participation in government, and teacher training and providing assistance to students participating in programs that develop awareness of the United States Constitution.

 

FISCAL IMPLICATIONS

 

House Bill 695 appropriates $100.0 to SDE and would be recurring.

 

ADMINISTRATIVE IMPLICATIONS

 

The SDE would administer the program throughout the 89 districts.

 

OTHER SUBSTANTIVE ISSUES

 

The SDE would have to develop an equitable system to distribute the funding and monitor the program to ensure that the curricula has been developed .
