EXPRESSING THE CONDOLENCE OF THE SENATE UPON THE PASSING OF RANDY HOUGTON.

WHEREAS, Randy Houghton of Roswell, New Mexico, died on March 16, 2002 at twenty-six years of age; and

WHEREAS, his life was taken as he attempted to help a neighbor at the scene of a house fire; and

WHEREAS, he was devoted to his family and died protecting them; and

WHEREAS, he worked for the City of Roswell Street Department; and

WHEREAS, he was preceded in death by his grandmother, Martha Julia Braggs Houghton and his grandfather, John Boyles; and

WHEREAS, he is survived by his wife, Randi; his children, Haily and Kordale; his parents, Lee and Elizabeth; his siblings, Candy and David; his grandfather, Ernest Paul Houghton; his grandmother, Cathy Boyles; and several nieces, nephews, in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, co-workers and friends;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that condolences be extended to the family and friends of Randy Houghton, a loving and devoted New Mexican.
