AN ACT

RELATING TO INSURANCE FRAUD; PROVIDING FOR INVESTIGATORS' POWERS; AMENDING SECTION 59A-16C-11 NMSA 1978 (BEING LAWS 1998, CHAPTER 115, SECTION 11).

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. Section 59A-16C-11 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1998, Chapter 115, Section 11) is amended to read:

     "59A-16C-11. INVESTIGATORS' POWERS.--The superintendent's investigators shall be peace officers pursuant to the provisions of Chapter 29, Article 1 NMSA 1978 [except that they shall not be authorized to carry firearms]."
