AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A STATEWIDE HEPATITIS C VIRUS OUTREACH IDENTIFICATION AND TREATMENT PROGRAM.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION--HEPATITIS C PROGRAM.--One million six hundred thousand dollars ($1,600,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2005 to establish a statewide hepatitis C virus outreach identification and treatment program, including patient, community and professional education. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2005 shall revert to the general fund.
