AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE NEW MEXICO ALLIANCE FOR MINORITY PARTICIPATION AND THE REGIONAL ALLIANCE FOR SCIENCE, ENGINEERING AND MATHEMATICS FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2005 to support efforts by the alliance for minority participation and the regional alliance for science, engineering and mathematics students with disabilities for undergraduate research assistantships, community college transfers and scholarships, a student research conference, academic mentoring and public school outreach and teacher training. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2005 shall revert to the general fund.
