AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR SERVICE LEARNING TRAINING, TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND PROJECT SUPPORT FOR REDUCING YOUTH VIOLENCE.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2005 for the college of education to support a regional center network throughout New Mexico to support teachers in incorporating service learning into standards-based education by providing training, technical assistance and project support for reducing youth violence. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2005 shall revert to the general fund.
