AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO INCREASE SPANISH LANGUAGE FACULTY FOR VARIOUS PROGRAMS AT NEW MEXICO HIGHLANDS UNIVERSITY.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred fifty thousand dollars ($350,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico highlands university for expenditure in fiscal year 2005 to hire Spanish language faculty for various disciplines, including teaching bilingual students, preparing students for bilingual interaction in business, producing bilingual teachers and offering a bilingual social work program. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2005 shall revert to the general fund.
