FOR THE CORRECTIONS OVERSIGHT AND JUSTICE COMMITTEE

 

AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE SALARY INCREASES FOR FULL-TIME JUDICIAL EMPLOYEES IN STATE COURTS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

          A. Two million one hundred twenty-seven thousand dollars ($2,127,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal year 2005 to provide salary increases for full-time judicial employees in state courts. Of that amount, one million five hundred thirty-two thousand dollars ($1,532,000) is appropriated to implement a two and eight-tenths percent compa-ratio restoration for judicial employees and five hundred ninety-five thousand dollars ($595,000) is appropriated to bring judicial employees to at least ninety percent of their salary ranges.

          B. The salary increases shall be effective the first full pay period after July 1, 2004.

          C. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2005 shall revert to the general fund.
