AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE NEW MEXICO OFFICE OF INDIAN AFFAIRS FOR A PILOT PROJECT TO HELP CERTAIN NAVAJO NATION CHAPTERS ACHIEVE CERTIFICATION.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the New Mexico office of Indian affairs for expenditure in fiscal year 2005 for a pilot project in certain chapters of the Navajo Nation to help the chapters achieve certification through the local governance system. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2005 shall revert to the general fund.
