AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES DEPARTMENT FOR EXPANSION OF PROGRAMS TO TRAIN TEAMS TO COMBAT THE SUBSTANCE ABUSE PROBLEMS OF NATIVE AMERICAN YOUTH THROUGH IMPLEMENTATION OF TEAM-BUILDING, PROBLEM-SOLVING SKILLS PROGRAMS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to expand an existing behavioral health services program based in Gallup to build teams of trainers to implement team-building, problem-solving skills programs to combat the substance abuse and mental health problems of Native American youth. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
