AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE PUBLIC DEFENDER DEPARTMENT.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million two hundred twenty thousand seventy-four dollars ($1,220,074) is appropriated from the general fund to the public defender department for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to provide for parity salary adjustments for attorneys in the public defender department. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
