AN ACT

RELATING TO THE LEGISLATURE; PROVIDING THAT NO INDIVIDUAL SHALL REGISTER AS A LOBBYIST OR BE EMPLOYED OR RETAINED AS A LOBBYIST UNLESS THE INDIVIDUAL IS A CITIZEN OF THE UNITED STATES.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. A new section of the Lobbyist Regulation Act is enacted to read:

     "[NEW MATERIAL] UNITED STATES CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED.--No individual shall register as a lobbyist or be employed or retained as a lobbyist unless the individual is a citizen of the United States."
