AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO ENHANCE THE RESEARCH AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS AT THE NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY AGRICULTURAL SCIENCE CENTER AT TUCUMCARI.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--

          A. Four hundred thirteen thousand eight hundred eighty-eight dollars ($413,888) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to enhance research and education programs relating to water conservation and rangeland ecology at the agricultural science center at Tucumcari to be spent in the following amounts by the following organizations:

                (1) two hundred seventy-five thousand six hundred sixteen dollars ($275,616) to the agricultural experiment station; and

                (2) one hundred thirty-eight thousand two hundred seventy-two dollars ($138,272) to the cooperative extension service.

          B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
