AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO DEVELOP A MEDIA LITERACY PROGRAM FOR PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to develop a media literacy educational curriculum on the relationship between childhood obesity and advertising for use in kindergarten through high school. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
