AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE INTERSTATE STREAM COMMISSION TO CONDUCT A STUDY OF THE SALT BASIN WATER RESOURCE FOR USE BY NEW MEXICO COMMUNITIES.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the interstate stream commission for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to conduct a study of the salt basin water resource to determine how best to retain the water in New Mexico for use by New Mexico communities. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
