AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO RESEARCH AND DEVELOP THE USE OF REVERSE OSMOSIS TECHNOLOGIES TO RECYCLE WATER PRODUCED FROM OIL AND GAS EXPLORATION.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the energy, minerals and natural resources department for expenditure in fiscal year 2006 to research and develop reverse osmosis technologies to purify and remove hydrocarbons from water produced as a byproduct of oil and gas exploration. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2006 shall revert to the general fund.
