AN ACT

RELATING TO CRIMINAL LAW; PROVIDING FOR A CRIMINAL OFFENSE FOR OBSTRUCTION OF A PROPERTY OWNER; PROVIDING A PENALTY.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. OBSTRUCTION OF A PROPERTY OWNER--PENALTY.--A person who obstructs a property owner from the lawful use of an animal, a natural resource or other property by way of coercion, intimidation or vandalism or a person who participates in animal or ecological terrorism by raising, soliciting, collecting or providing material support to obstruct a property owner from lawful use of an animal, a natural resource or other property is guilty of a fourth degree felony and shall be sentenced under the provisions of Section 31-18-15 NMSA 1978.
