AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE RETIREE HEALTH CARE AUTHORITY FOR OPERATION EXPENSES; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     Section 1. APPROPRIATION.--Nine hundred fifty thousand dollars ($950,000) is appropriated from the retiree health care fund to the retiree health care authority for expenditure in fiscal year 2005 to fund program operations, including the establishment of a satellite office in Santa Fe, the planning, acquiring, furnishing and equipping of which shall be at the sole discretion of the board of the retiree health care authority in consultation with the legislative finance committee, and further provided that the department of finance and administration and the general services department shall approve and expedite eligible expenditures, contracts and related activities for this purpose. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2005 shall revert to the retiree health care fund.

     Section 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
